My wife and I live in a 5th wheel full time and we are plugged into shore power all the time. We live in an older 2003 model that doesn't have a battery disconnect switch and I worry about the battery constantly being charged by the converter. Would this effectively stop the converter from doing that? I also notice my interior lights get much brighter when I disconnect the negative terminal but I can't remove the battery altogether because there is still power flowing through the cables from the converter. We do not travel with it. It's just a tiny home on a homestead but any help would be greatly appreciated. It's been next to impossible to find any answers online.

Easiest way - Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a paper towel. Wet the towel, wipe the black streak off. Wash the RV and wax. If you don't feel like waxing at least use Formula 4 spray wax (used in automatic car washes.) Available in one gallon jug at parts stores (probably have to order - btw, @ Amaz is waaay too expensive.) Mixes @ 10 water to 1 wax. Clean off the black streaks with IPA, wash with car wash soap, spray on Formula 4 and rinse. No big deal. No ifs, ands or buts. Don't forget to do the roof and be careful, it gets slick with the soap and wax. I use it with a pressure washer and foam gun but even a cheap garden sprayer will work just as well. ~$12 @ HD.
